With its new iPad mini case, the Hamburg-based brand Pack & Smooch introduces a proprietary blend of Merino wool felt.
Hamburg, May 2019 – Apple’s smallest iPad is about to get cozy. Soft yet durable wool felt, custom-developed for Pack & Smooch, forms the foundation of the elegant Lleyn sleeve. This minimalist, tailor-made case offers clever functionality: the Apple Pencil is secured in a dedicated loop, and a slim front pocket keeps smaller accessories neatly in place. A magnetic closure ensures the iPad mini stays protected while remaining easy to access. An exterior patch of vegetable-tanned Italian leather adds a refined touch of elegance.
Comfort Zone: Wool Felt
Minimalist design, traditional craftsmanship, and natural premium materials define the identity of Pack & Smooch. The Hamburg-based manufacturer now uses a specially developed wool felt blend for its accessories. “Demand for German-made wool felt has grown tremendously over the past years,” says Matthias Burkert, Managing Director at Pack & Smooch. “Unfortunately, many domestic options couldn’t meet our expectations in terms of density, feel, and color. After numerous test blends, we finally found a composition that matched our standards.”
This special felt is made from particularly soft wool, which is significantly more expensive than conventional qualities. The result: a pleasantly soft, durable, and dirt-resistant material, produced exclusively for Pack & Smooch. Minor variations in texture and thickness highlight the natural origin – each piece is a unique handmade product.
The Lleyn sleeve for iPad mini is handcrafted using this custom material and available in two colors: light grey or anthracite.
