Tradition protects technology: The robust Angus sleeve offers stylish protection for mobile Apple computers and tablets.

Hamburg, April 2019 – With its new product line, the Hamburg-based manufacturer Pack & Smooch once again demonstrates how naturally materials, traditional craftsmanship and modern technology can complement one another. The leather sleeves in the Angus series are available for MacBook Pro 13 and 15-inch models, as well as current iPad generations. Each sleeve is a minimalist one-of-a-kind item made from high-quality, vegetable-tanned leather. The custom-cut main compartment for tablet or MacBook is softly padded with fine Merino wool felt. An exterior zip pocket provides secure storage for smaller accessories.

Pure nature

Pack & Smooch sources the durable Angus leather from Barcelona. It features the characteristic natural leather scent and develops a rich patina over time. Small imperfections emphasize the uniqueness of the natural material. The leather is handcrafted exclusively in Germany – sustainably and ethically.

“Vegetable-tanned leather is still an exception,” explains Matthias Burkert, CEO of Pack & Smooch. “Over 85% of leather on the market is chrome-tanned, which causes high levels of environmental and human health risks.”

Natural vegetable tanning is the most environmentally friendly method of leather treatment and has been used for thousands of years. However, it is significantly more complex – and therefore more expensive – than chemical chrome tanning.

The Angus sleeve in detail

Every detail is carefully considered: The softly padded main compartment is cut to allow easy removal of your MacBook or iPad. Angus also features an external zip pocket – perfect for small accessories. The iPad sleeves come with an integrated Apple Pencil holder. A clever touch: a business card-sized pocket inside makes it easy for honest finders to return lost devices.

Angus is available in two natural leather colors: light brown and dark brown. Bold red zippers on the outer pockets add a distinctive contrast.

Models and prices

The Angus series for MacBook and iPad is available now in the Pack & Smooch online shop. Angus is available for iPad 11, iPad Pro and iPad Air 10.5 at an RRP of €169. The iPad Pro 12.9 version is also priced at €169. The sleeve for the MacBook Pro 13" is available for €169 RRP, as are the versions for MacBook Pro 14", Air 15" and 16". All prices include VAT.
