Out of Respect for Nature – No Plastic Packaging

Hundreds of thousands of plastic fragments float in every square kilometer of our oceans. Over 660 animal species are directly affected. Each year, around one million seabirds and 100,000 marine mammals die from plastic pollution. If we don’t act, by 2050 there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. It takes 350–400 years for plastic to fully decompose – until then, it just breaks down into smaller and smaller particles.

To combat this crisis, governments, industries, and consumers must act together. One thing is clear: we can’t clean it all up – we must reduce the production and consumption of plastic. At Pack & Smooch, we’re starting right now: we no longer pack our products in plastic. Our new motto says it all: No plastic. Out of respect. For Nature. You’ll find it hanging – literally – from every item we make.

We want to be measured by stricter standards in how we handle resources. That’s why we’re rethinking not just packaging, but also the way our products are made. Due to rising global demand for German-made wool felt (used in interiors, fashion, and textiles), the consistency of even “standard quality” has started to fluctuate.

We at Pack & Smooch counter this trend with uncompromising quality and sustainable manufacturing. Our collection includes a wide range of MacBook sleeves and iPad sleeves made from premium Merino wool felt and vegetable-tanned leather – materials that are not only durable, but also eco-friendly and responsibly sourced.

We’re particularly proud of our iPhone sleeves and iPad cases – perfectly tailored for Apple users who value both protection and sustainability.

Our accessories also follow this philosophy. From elegant keychains to practical laptop sleeves, each piece is crafted with care and a commitment to ecological standards.

As a manufacturer, we know our responsibility – and we’ll continue to do everything we can to protect the environment while delivering high-quality, handcrafted products that meet the highest standards.

Material fluctuations have been noted in thickness, feel, and color tone. That’s not compatible with our quality standards. That’s why we’ve developed our own wool blend. Normally, wool felt is shaved after the felting process, which makes it slightly scratchy. We wanted softness. Together with our German supplier, we created a special blend – the result of a long process and many test mixtures.

What does this have to do with sustainability? A lot. We want to return to the craftsmanship and quality of the past – before global industrial demand exploded. Our products are handmade – not mass-produced. We care deeply about wool felt quality and the way each item is made: clean stitching, perfectly finished edges. Our pieces are built to last. A reflection of our shared sense of style – and environmental responsibility.
